HIPAA Requires the protection of patients' privacy. Our operational
policies and procedures meet HIPAA standards.
During every carecall that we send, our system first asks for confirmation
that the person answering the phone is the intended patient. If
the person is not the intended patient, the system will terminate
the carecall.
HIPAA Allows caregivers to leave messages for patients at their
homes, either on an answering machine or with a family member, to
remind them of appointments, medical compliance or prescription
refills. Go to the Health and Human Services web site at
http://www.hhs.gov/hipaafaq/providers/smaller/198.html
for more detailed information.
Since medical reminders are considered part of treatment, authorization
prior to the CareCall™ is not required.
